The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is an exciting look into naval and aviation history. Decommissioned WWII aircraft carrier Intrepid is the star attraction at its berth on the Hudson River, hosting a historic complement of air and spacecraft the carrier serviced throughout its long life. Also on display are the former US missile submarine Growler and other aircraft not affiliated with the Intrepid, including the Mach 3 capable A-12 Blackbird spy plane and supersonic airliner Concorde. Explore the huge flight and hangar decks of the carrier, or venture into the cramped insides of the once-top-secret sub to see what life was like in the US Navy throughout WWII and the Cold War.
- Visit the USS Intrepid (CVS-11) which was commissioned in 1943 and survived kamikaze attack in WWII, hunted submarines in the Atlantic during the Cold War, fought in the Vietnam War, and recovered NASA space capsules from ocean splashdowns
