Freedom Tower

The World Trade Center site, scarred to this day by the events of September 11, 2001, is both a memorial to those killed by acts of terrorism and a symbol of rebuilding after tragedy.  Five new skyscrapers will rise above the site, led by the Freedom Tower, officially One World Trade Center, scheduled to open in 2013.  Ground Zero will be preserved as a tree-filled plaza, museum and memorial, marked by two waterfalls filling pools sunk thirty feet below street level on the footprints of the destroyed Twin Towers, and inscribed with the names of the nearly 3,000 victims of the 2001 attacks as well as those of the WTC car-bombing of 1993.

  • Pay your respects to the men and women who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks
  • The Freedom Tower, currently under construction, will be 1,776 feet tall, marking the year of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and making it the tallest building in North America
