Gettysburg Tours
Education
Come see where history was made at Gettysburg. From July 1 to July 3, 1863, over 165,000 soldiers fought in a furious battle ending in a Union victory that changed the course of the Civil War and left 51,000 casualties. Follow a licensed Battlefield Tour Guide over the rolling hills and fields, stopping at Devil’s Den, Little Round Top, and the site of Pickett’s Charge to hear harrowing stories of the men who fought and died for their causes. Visit the National Cemetery, where President Abraham Lincoln delivered his most famous Gettysburg Address, some four and a half months after the battle. Spend time at the Gettysburg Museum and Visitors Center, displaying artifacts and presentations of the three-day battle, including the immersive Cyclorama painting of the events in the field. Take a break to eat at a Civil War-era tavern, and see one of the hidden station stops of the “underground railroad” leading slaves out of the South to freedom.Voluntourism (Community Service)
