Fifth Avenue

Fifth Avenue is one of the most expensive streets in the world and a symbol of the wealth and luxury of New York City’s East Side.  It stretches much of the length of Manhattan, from Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village to the Harlem River, and it is the dividing line between West-addressed streets and East-addressed streets in the borough.  Many notable high-end retailers have flagship locations on Fifth Avenue in Midtown, including department stores Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor, jewelers Tiffany & Co. and Cartier, boutiques Louis Vuitton and Armani/5th Avenue, and the Apple Store under the giant glass cube.  Fifth Avenue from 82nd to 104th Streets in the Upper East Side is known as the Museum Mile for its many renowned museums and galleries of art, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.

  • Fifth Avenue forms the eastern border of Central Park
